Dr Wilfred J Samuel, the Director of the Lutheran Study Centre – FELCMS

Brief Introduction

Greetings

Greetings from Lutheran Study Centre (FELCMS) and thank you for visiting our website. This study centre was established by the Federation of Evangelical Lutheran Churches in Malaysia and Singapore particularly to assist the Lutheran Churches in Malaysia, Singapore and South East Asia in instilling the Lutheran Confessional Identity. At the Lutheran Study Centre we are mindful of the fact that as we promote our Lutheran Identity, we are not going to neglect our ecumenical responsibility. In the past 10 years, by the grace of God we have managed to keep on track in the fulfilling our established goals and objectives. Hence, like the Psalmist, we at Lutheran Study Centre would like to thank God and praise Him for all His blessings and providences; “Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name.

Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all His benefits — who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.” Psalm 103:1-4. LSC will continue to serve the FELCMS member churches and Southeast Asia regional Lutheran Churches by devising programs and events that would benefit the Churches and members in serving our Lord and fulfilling the missional task of the Church. Our target areas of ministry includes:

  • Providing Lutheran Identity training program for Pastors, Lay Members and Pastoral Assistants of the Lutheran Churches.
  • Providing courses for seminary students on Lutheran Distinctives.
  • Reaching out to Lutheran youths and women on contextual issues and helping them to develop a biblical Lutheran response.

I truly hope this website will help to enhance our objectives of reaching to the wider Lutheran community in a constructive way.
